We are a compassionate and dedicated company aiming to provide quick, easy and affordable healthcare when you need that little bit extra. If you want your child to be seen quickly, or need a second opinion, we provide face-to-face or video consultations for private paediatric concerns.
Autism and ADHD assessments are done in a stress-free and friendly manner to suit you and we do not have huge waiting lists. We provide links to cognitive assessments, psychology support and speech and language therapy if required. We also provide post-diagnostic support for related medical issues.
Our specialist ARFID Clinic brings together a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose and advise about this condition.

Founder, Director, ASD/ADHD Assessor, General Paediatrician and ARFID Clinician
Dr Mohan
Dr. Mohan is a general paediatrician with a special interest in neurodevelopmental paediatrics, including autism spectrum condition. Qualifications: MBBS, MRCPCH. Dr. Mohan graduated with merit from one of India's top medical colleges - St. John's Medical College, Bangalore. She then completed postgraduation MRCPCH from UK. This included training in the Newcastle hospitals as junior doctor and completion of training with a registrar number in the London deanery. She trained with a special interest in endocrinology from Great Ormond Street Hospital adolescent ward in UCLH. She then took up a consultant post in Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a consultant, she was part of the diabetes team. She set up an obesity clinic at the Horton General hospital and was a paediatrician for the eating disorders team at Oxford Health. During this time, Dr. Mohan realized that a lot of children with eating difficulties (under or over eating) have undiagnosed autism spectrum condition. This led to her training in this while working as a community paediatrician at Warwick hospital. She developed expertise in the medical and behavioural presentations of autism and attended courses on ARFID. She was involved in the development of the pathway for ARFID services in South Warwickshire and has written the guideline for Oxford University hospitals. She continues to work at the Horton General Hospital (OUH NHS Trust) and is involved in the training of junior doctors and teaching medical students. She has undertaken and published research projects and presented at conferences. She has won various awards during her training career. She continues to pursue her interest in autism by keeping updated with latest research and continues to attend courses of interest in general paediatrics. Dr. Mohan's ethos is to provide compassionate, ethical and safe paediatric care. She allows time for patients and parents to feel listened to and is motivated to continue pursuing excellence in the care that she provides.

SLT, ASD Assessor (ADOS)
Claire Huxford
Claire Huxford is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist. She qualified in 2005 and has worked in neurodevelopmental assessment and diagnostic services for 15 years, continually developing and expanding her knowledge and skills and keeping up-to-date with research and advancements. Claire has a particular interest, expertise and specialist training in the experience of Autistic girls and children who ‘mask’ their differences. Other areas of expertise include AuDHD (co-occurring autism and ADHD), demand avoidance (pervasive desire for autonomy) and situational mutism. Claire’s approach is friendly, warm, considerate and caring. She focuses on creating a fun and informal experience for the child during assessments so that they feel as comfortable as possible and it certainly does not feel like a 'test'. Claire prides herself on her neuro-affirmative approach which is reflected in her assessment delivery and reports. Assessments can be delivered either in person or remotely. Careful consideration is given on an individual basis when deciding whether video-link assessment is appropriate and able to meet the child’s needs. Claire has been delivering online assessments since 2018 has adapted and refined the observation session so that it is thorough and delves beyond what might be captured from an ADOS-2 assessment alone.

Laura Harris
Qualifications and Registrations: BSc (HONS) Speech and Language Therapist, Manchester Post-Basic Dysphagia Certification, Member of RCSLT and HCPC Laura Harris is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with over 17 years of experience supporting children and young people with communication, eating, drinking, and swallowing needs. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Speech and Language Therapy (2006) and a Post-Basic Dysphagia Certification (2020), reflecting her advanced expertise in complex feeding and swallowing difficulties. Laura began her career working in educational settings with children from disadvantaged backgrounds before moving into early intervention services, where she spent several years developing and delivering programmes to support young children and their families. Her strong commitment to early identification and timely support continues to underpin her clinical approach. Between 2016 and 2022, Laura worked within an Early Years Special Educational Needs SLT team, specialising in supporting children with autism and guiding families through the diagnostic process. She is experienced in working closely with parents and professionals, providing practical strategies and evidence-based advice to achieve the best possible outcomes. In recent years, Laura has focused on paediatric dysphagia and currently works part-time as Clinical Lead for Children’s Eating, Drinking and Swallowing. She has extensive experience managing a wide range of eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties and plays a key role in service development, training, and mentoring junior clinicians. Laura is a member of the Midlands and London Clinical Excellence Networks for dysphagia and regularly attends events and seminars to increase her clinical knowledge and skills. She has recently set up a local clinical excellence network for dysphagia in Oxfordshire. Laura has a particular interest in sensory and behavioural feeding challenges, including ARFID, and is dedicated to supporting families navigating these complex needs. Laura joined Genie Paediatrics in 2025, bringing her specialist knowledge and collaborative approach to enhance services for children with specialist feeding difficulties.

Paediatric Dietitian, ARFID Clinician
Gemma Ransome
Gemma Ransome is a Paediatric Dietitian with over 15 years’ experience supporting children with complex nutrition and feeding needs across the NHS, private hospitals, and her own practice. She is known for translating clinical nutrition science into practical, family‑centred strategies, reflected in her work across the full spectrum of child nutrition in diverse settings and her ability to deliver evidence‑based and practical, family‑centred solutions. Gemma specialises in selective eating, PFD and ARFID, and is a key member of multidisciplinary feeding teams. Her training includes the SOS Approach to Feeding and advanced workshops in the Food Scientist Model, alongside postgraduate study in paediatric clinical dietetics and behaviour change.

Medical Secretary
Thalia Douglin
Thalia Douglin is the medical secretary for Genie Paediatrics, supporting families and clinicians to ensure every child’s care runs smoothly. Alongside her role here, she also works part‑time as a medical secretary within the NHS. She previously worked with Dr Mohan in the NHS and now has the pleasure of continuing to support her at Genie Paediatrics. Her focus is on providing a friendly, efficient service and helping families feel confident and supported throughout their care journey.
